Les Croquis

"All we are saying is give peace a chance".
John Lennon, a great musician, the father of his band (The Beatles), father of 3 children, fan of Elvis Presley, citizen of Liverpool and in his last days citizen of New York, owner of a pair of unique glasses, guilty of a music revolution and of millions of fans all around the world.
I like his music and from his band, and I think even those who doesn't know much about The Beatles can identify this character of the round shaped glasses, relative-long hair and mid 60's british accent. So I made a sketch in black and white and actually liked it more than the idea of making it perfect, now it's a part of my room and a part of my collection of "So Call Art" pieces.

In my opinion, the eyes are one of the most expressive parts of a person. You can look into someone's eyes and tell how they feel, maybe even what they're thinking. You can know the story behind this person's words, you can know the history of everybody and they can see yours. You can identify someone just by knowing his/her eyes. You can see the shining light of energy and curiousness in a child, the love and craziness in a teenager, the adventure and security in the young or the knowledge and experience in an old wise man/woman.

Of eyes are many kind, many sizes, many colors, but for me they are the most perfect thing, for me is the first thing to check when a new person comes into my life, it can be the guy in the same train or my mama, I always go after this amazing little pair of stupid nature things that someone called eyes. And after some tries, I got to draw a decent one, with this style of mine, where the important things are there, and it's not a cartoon, either a photograph, just a simple sketch.

See you later ;)

The other day I found my self drawing lines, at half of the way I still couldn't tell what it was that I was so focused on sketching, a few outlines more and I could see something familiar in the picture that now was standing in this iPad App, I was able to say I knew that from somewhere... Oh! It's my Mexican house! How couldn't recognize it before?... Starting from the beginning my house is build in a mountain, you go in and instead of going up you go down, but there is no basement, so you can actually see it from the mountain in front, but I haven't been there and some how I managed to draw this side of my house just from living the space (where I haven't been in 6 months since right now I'm in Germany).

Before I wanted to be an architect but I wasn't sure about it all, about my talents as one. After showing this to my dad (an actual Architect) he made me make a pool of happy tears after complementing my "gift" as a natural architect... Now I know I want to be an architect as in for sure and completely... And hmm a philosopher too, but that's another story ;).
